Nomadic Art Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition, Transtemporal Travel – a group show that plays on the relationship between human behaviour and time.
Transtemporal travel refers to the concept of traveling through time to visit different periods in history or the future. The idea raises questions about the relationship between cause and effect. If we can go back in time and change past events, what effect will this have on the future? These works of art challenge us to consider the complex ways in which our actions can impact the world around us.
The exhibition seeks to explore human behaviour and habits in different periods in time. From the old and nostalgic to the futuristic and imagined, the images and objects would take the audience on a journey, through various human habits in relation to culture, social vices, beliefs, interpersonal relationships & career.
The talented group of Artists who have displayed their stirring compositions - Joe Abdallah, Valerie Etintinwo, Fiyin Koko, Emmanuel Adebayo Adeyemi, Oluwaferanmi Okeowo and Janet Adebayo have in addition to exploring the technical aspects of time travel, also used the concept as a means to explore the metaphorical road maps of life, themes of redemption, lucid dreams, healing and love, the nature of free will, the consequences of our actions, and the fragility of existence.
The body of works in this exhibition offer a unique perspective on time travel, allowing the artists to explore the concept through a variety of mediums and techniques on surrealistic paintings, installations, and sculptures. They suggest the possibility of alternate realities by depicting different versions of history or the future, that there may be many possible outcomes to any given event or decision. The show is aimed to challenge our perceptions of time and space and encourage us to consider the possibilities of transtemporal travel.

All this is very exciting but it didn’t come without a cost”.
The artworks in this exhibition are about separation, which is something we are all familiar with. “I moved to Nigeria at its peak of uncertainty. Why? the answer is very simple: Separation. It’s something my family had to go through this year and is still adjusting to. But separation isn’t always a bad thing. Sometimes it’s even necessary. That doesn’t make it easy or painless. It still comes with its loneliness and fear”.

Emmanuel Adeyemi Adebayo is the son of an artist who stopped his professional practice due to certain predicaments of life. That didn’t rub off on Emmanuel’s practice who taught himself how to draw and paint at early stages of his life as he felt inspired by the past works of his father.
The awareness of his strength and purpose got him fully engaged with reforming and polishing his artistic talent as He shifted his focus on redeeming earth off her dirt caused by human activities, and recreate her with a vision of achieving an adequate environment for all species living in it.
Emmanuel believes that we can only give thought and vocal validation or rejection through emotions, but even with this human ability, man still can not predict his next thought, or the next reality that holds. In this exhibition, Emmanuel has apprehended this idea and executed it on different surfaces, creating mixed media works that compels the viewers to have an insight to this idea of time, and most Importantly, to purged the minds of many that are stuck on the humanly created traffic of time
