ANNY ROBERT's ingenious artistic career began long before he ever picked up a camera. From a very young age, he had always been drawn to visual artistry. In his formative years, he displayed a curious affinity for visually stimulating activities: tracing, colouring and drawing on any surfaces he could find his hands on.
For seven years Anny quietly built an impressive body of art in secret, displaying only to the most tasteful collectors. By day he was known as Nigeria's most sought after commercial photographer and by night he crusaded as a masked Artist, curing the ails of society through his work.
Anny’s art explores the tension between conformity and personality. Some of these conflicts include conformity to religion, sexuality, cultural and personality, and a search for a comfortable balance between both worlds.
